Steady State performed at Blue Ghost Brewery on Saturday, March 2. Proceeds from the Fundraiser were shared with the Pantry and Cancer Society. What a great evening to spend with our community friends and enjoy some fellowship time too! On Monday, two of our house carpenters, Jack and Kim, were busy sawing and installing beams to build additional shelving above our pallets. On Tuesday, a Manna-sponsored food drive brought Kelly Deese from Hendersonville Middle School with an SUV filled with 297 pounds of food items for the pantry. Kelly's classroom provided the most food items and won a cup of hot cocoa and a doughnut treat. Ummmm...wonder if that could work for us??? On Friday, March 8th from 9-11, we'll be restocking the shelves for Saturday food distribution. Stop by with a food item or monetary donation and we'll offer you a cup of hot cocoa. This week food was provided to 120 families representing 431 individuals. We welcomed five new families.
On behalf of the Executive Committee, thank you to our volunteers and our area churches, civic groups, local merchants, and families for all you do to feed our community, helping to reduce food insecurity. We thank you and appreciate your food and monetary donations.
