Egg Cartons!!  Never thought we would be asking for cartons. The news is heart "breaking" and this is no "yoke."  Martha, our food purchaser was submitting our weekly order for milk and eggs only to find there were no eggs available. Many places have a two dozen limit if you can find them. The sleuth that Martha is, she located thirty dozen but that would mean if you use last week's number of neighbors, 103 families would not have received eggs.  The search continued and we were able to get enough from a nearby restaurant for this week.

Surprises are welcomed at the Pantry and this week is no exception. Ingles on Long Shoals Road contacted us to be the recipients of the food collected from their December's Giving Tree Donations.  We received green beans, blueberry muffin mix, rice, mac and cheese, and chunk tuna which were offered to our neighbors on Saturday. Ingles continues to be a supporter of helping to reduce food insecurity in our community.

Neighbors were offered bok choy grown in our garden hoop house. Recipes were offered; however, several neighbors shared the way they prepared it with us. We welcomed 135 families representing 537 individuals and twelve new families. A special "Shout-Out" to our carryout volunteers...it was another two-hand-warmer day!

On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.
