The Henderson County Hunger Coalition will be having its 42nd Hunger Walk as part of the Henderson County Hunger Coalition's annual walk on Saturday, September 28; at 11:00 a.m. Betty Robins assembled walkers from the community to be part of the Saturday walk in Hendersonville. Arden Woods held a Hunger Walk on Sunday, September 17 at 4 p.m on their campus coordinated by Pat Jollie and Carol Romine. Donations received from the walks are distributed by the Henderson County Hunger Coalition. Local non-profit agencies may apply for funds to help provide hunger relief in Henderson County.
We welcomed 127 households on Saturday representing 483 individuals. Four new neighbors registered and had the opportunity to shop with a volunteer. The families selected items from the donations received this week, especially from our fresh collards and peppers and from corn and tomatoes picked in Mills River from FlavorFirst. Local gleaners contributed 11 boxes of apples.
On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.

News from The Lord’s Acre of Fletcher – September 25, 2024
The days are shorter and cooler, so we are moving our regular work sessions to 4:00 pm starting on October 3. That will be a challenge for some and will free up others to again take part in our work. If an earlier start works for you, please join us. We’d love to see you! Join us on Thursday, October 3 at 4:00 for another big collard and pepper harvest as well as thinning beets and carrots in the field.
