We are overwhelmed by the support of our community this week. Michael, an Eagle Scout candidate, and his father worked in the perennial garden that he planned and help plant with his troop. On Monday, Chef Martha picked up a sizeable donation from Harris Teeter. On Wednesday, we received a bulk order from Sav-Mor. With the assistance of Todd and his crew and Chef Martha with her team, they transported the items from Hendersonville to the pantry. Items were placed in inventory for distribution on Saturdays. On Friday, Jeff brought five volunteers from Walnut Cove who spent the morning working in the garden and harvesting "Mini Love" watermelons. Almost 1/2 ton of melons were distributed to every neighbor on Saturday. On Saturday, six students from Christ School spent the morning assisting with shopping and carryout.
Calling all volunteers! Reminder of the Volunteer Picnic in the garden on September 5 at 6:30.
We welcomed this past Saturday 133 families representing 486 household members and nine new families A busy week! A Good Time Was Had By All!!!
Your Support means the world to us! Without it, we would not be able to have the impact we do on our community.
