Cashiers and Minnesota are two words that describe seven of our volunteers last Friday. Lisa, from Cashiers, contacted us about her family from Minnesota helping in the pantry on Friday morning. They wanted to give back by volunteering.  She described them as strong and able-bodied with good hearts. They worked diligently in most areas of the pantry from produce, to dairy, stocking the shelves, and breaking down the boxes. Friday afternoon, a couple from New Bern brought a pickup truck filled with clothes, lap quilts, pillow cases, and several large boxes of beanie babies.  Jacqui, from the Quilt Lizzy in Jacksonville, coordinated this donation which included a monetary gift.  Earlier in the week Sammy and Doug unloaded two pallets of water and it is available in front of the pantry.

On December 7th neighbors will have an opportunity to get Christmas decorations. On Saturday the 14, toys will be available and also the Mills River Lions Club Eye Van will be on the campus for eyesight screening. Our Christmas meal is scheduled for distribution on the 21st.  Lois also shared that blankets will also be distributed on the 21st.

On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.
