The continuing outpouring of support from volunteers has been overwhelming. Over the last week, several new families have joined us for the Wednesday and Saturday distribution. Today Lisa joined us with two middle school students, her son and his friend. Sande and her adult daughter were whirlwinds sorting through the containers filled with items of food, cleaning supplies, and a vast array of baby things. Since Sunday, October 6th, the pantry has been open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The total distributions since the 6th have been 144 families representing 559 individuals.
Erma Bombeck shares, "Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation's compassion, unselfish caring patience, and just plain loving one another." Without our volunteers from area churches and the community at large, we would not have been able to receive donations, stock the shelves and distribute food this week.
On behalf of our Pantry Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous food and monetary donations to our pantry. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity.
"The smallest act of kindness is worth more that the grandest intention."

News from The Lord’s Acre of Fletcher– October 15, 2024
No more regular work sessions this fall After our record collard harvest last week, we will not have another work session for a time. However, we expect to harvest beets, carrots, and more collards before the end of the year.
4000 – We did it! We reached the 4,000 pound goal for produce from the Lord’s Acre Fletcher garden in 2024, at 4,123 pounds, with more to come before the end of the year. Thanks to our faithful regular crew, school and community groups who volunteered 449 hours (so far!) to make this happen!
