Calvary Youth Initiative to help Migrant Workers

Each year there is an initiative to collect materials for migrant workers who start coming to Hendersonville in May. We are grateful for their work and contributions to our agricultural community.

Please find below a list of items that are needed. The True Ridge organization in Hendersonville houses 200 workers and their families. We will be delivering these items at the end of April.

1. Tooth brushes

2. Toothpaste

3. Bar soap

4. Small Kleenex

5. Combs

6. Small hair brushes

7. Granola bars/crackers

8. Financial donations are welcome

9. The air mattresses that are preferred are the Ozark Trail Brand which are about $8 each on Walmart.com. We have 100 ordered but need at least 100 more. These air mattresses seem to hold air better than some that are much more expensive.

10. We also need twin fitted sheets to cover the mattresses. We can use gently used sheets both flat and fitted. (twin size) but a very few can use double bed sheets.

11. Clothing needed are
a. Men’s pants small to medium (28 to 32 waist and about 30 long).
b. Long sleeve men’s shirts small and medium and ball caps.
c. We don’t need women’s or children’s clothes.

12. Anyone willing to make cards to go in the gift bags we need 200. About 4x5 inches with drawings or collage and in Spanish: Bienvenido (Welcome) Gracias por su trabajo duro.

There will be a bin in the Calvary Lobby outside the Parish Hall for these items.
Thank you for all you do!
