Hiking with Fr. Bill

On our Saturday, April 27 Caminamos con Dios Hike, we will do the Pink Beds Loop Trail (Pisgah National Forest). Begin gathering at 8:45, with Eucharist/hike beginning at 9:00. We will walk the shortened version of the trail, approximately 3.1 miles, mostly flat. We will end Eucharist at the picnic grounds at approximately noon, followed by lunch. Hiking shoes or boots are recommended (if it has been raining recently, Pink Beds can be muddy, and should be considered in selecting footwear), and hikers should bring at least a liter of water; also recommended: sunscreen, raincoat, hat, and a post-Eucharist lunch. No advance registration needed. Each hiker accepts personal liability in case of injury or illness.
Directions: At the intersection with US highways 276 and 64, turn west on US 276 west (follow signs for Pisgah National Forest). Proceed on 276 for 11.4 to the Pink Beds Picnic Area, just past the Forest Discovery Center on the right. From Blue Ridge Parkway, go east on US 276 4 miles and turn left.
