October 23 Food & Formation

The Missions team at Calvary is continuing to encourage us all to learn about the world around us, especially the marginalized in our communities who struggle to make a better life for themselves and their families. To help us connect with our Latino/Hispanic neighbors we will be having two guests on Wednesday, October 23 for Food and Formation. Lori Garcia-McCammon is the director of True Ridge in Hendersonville and works tirelessly to “create tangible change for people who face barriers every day and to advance the aspirations and dreams of our Latino neighbors.” True Ridge is a non-profit organization and the recent recipient of our diocese’s Human Hurt and Hope Grant.

Pam Rogers has a compelling story of how a visit to a migrant workers’ camp in Henderson County made a profound change in her life. Both of these women of faith are eager to share their experiences and knowledge with us as we follow Christ’s command to Love Our Neighbors.

Come and join us for a light supper at 6:00 followed by “food” for our hearts and minds beginning at 6:30. As is the custom a donation of $5.00 is requested if you plan to come for supper and a sign-up sheet will be at the church office and in the Old Well Hall on Sunday or call the church office for your reservation.

828-684-6266. If you can’t make the meal please come for the program beginning at 6:30 in the Commons Room.
