 To Celebrate the Resurrection

 Services for Easter

 Saturday night, 3 April 2010 + Easter Eve

One of the most ancient and moving celebrations of the Church, we gather to retell the story of God’s salvation, from the beginning of time to the present. Filled with scripture, prayer, ceremony and song, this is the first Eucharist of Easter! 

The Paschal Candle, the Bible, the Waters of Baptism, and the Bread & Wine of the Eucharist are central elements in our faith and in this celebration of the resurrection.

This is the Passover of the Lord.

 Easter Day + 4 April 2010

Festival Celebrations of the Holy Eucharist at 8:00 and 10.30 a.m. At 10.30 a.m. + Music by the Choir & Brass

Easter Egg Hunt at 9.30 am. in the Churchyard

 Sunday of the Passion: Palm Sunday  28 March  8:00 & 10:30 a.m.

We gather in the Old Well Hall at 8, and the Parish Hall at 10.30.  After the Liturgy of the Palms, we process into the church, recalling Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  Then the service turns from triumph to tragedy as we experience the dramatic reading of the story of the crucifixion.

Holy Monday                  29 March                              at 6 pm

We gather in the choir stalls of the church for a meditative Holy Eucharist.

Holy Tuesday                30 March                              at 6 pm

We gather in the church for a meditative Holy Eucharist. In addition, members of our Healing Ministry teams will be present to enfold those who wish in deep prayer without words.  Instead of words, Presence.

Holy Wednesday          31 March                               at 6 pm

On this night, we will gather in the Parish Hall for a Eucharist and Agape meal in style similar to the experience of the early church. Reservations are required.  Please call the Parish office at 684-6266.

 Maundy Thursday        1 April                                 at 7 pm

Holy Eucharist & Stripping of the Altar

This is a solemn yet joyful service recalls the institution of the Lord’s Supper. Then, preparation for Good Friday, all the hangings, ornaments, and vessels are removed from the church as we strip the room bare.

Good Friday                       2 April                                at 12 noon

The Liturgy of Good Friday

We gather in the bare church for this somber service of prayer, scripture, and the dramatic reading of the St. John Passion.  The church will remain open for prayer unti1 3 o’clock when the bell of Calvary Church is tolled.
